The previous institutes – Soil Science, Geobotany, Geology, Mineralogy as well as Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology – are merging and will form the sections of the new institute. In any further correspondence, we will be known as a section of the Institute of Earth System Sciences.
The new common website will be launched soon.
Mineralogy provides access to a better understanding of important global geochemical and global tectonic processes such as continental formation and evolution, orogeny, landmine erosion, volcanism, resource formation, and climate evolution. For this purpose, the Institute of Mineralogy of the University of Hanover is actively researching and teaching in our research sections.
